Kindergarten Intervention
Kindergarten students receive literacy support from an interventionist during a 30 minute block 2-4 days each week. During the first few months of the school year, this support happens within the classroom. Later in the school year, students who are not making the anticipated progress receive small group instruction during these times, in the following programs:
•My Sidewalks on Scott Foresman's Reading Street: Early Reading Intervention
My Sidewalks: Early Reading Intervention is a scientifically research-based program for at-risk children in kindergarten. The program provides interactive, systematic instruction in learning letter names and sounds, segmenting, blending, and integrating early reading skills, giving the structure and support needed to create successful readers.
